Non-Attended Appointments

Missed appointments cost the NHS an average of £30.00 per appointment. They also mean another patient who wanted to see their GP, Practice Nurse or Health Care Assistant was unable to do so.

If something occurs which means you may miss or will be late for an appointment you should contact the Practice and let us know at least an hour before your appointment time. Your appointment can then be given to someone else and a new one can be offered to you if needed.

Ford Medical Practice regularly reviews the number of missed appointments and adopts the following policy;

• A warning letter will be sent to you if you miss two appointments in a twelve month period.
• If you miss a further appointment in the same twelve month period you will be removed from the Practice list and will have to register with another Practice.  Removals remain effective for a period of five years 
• Please note: If you are removed from the Practice list and have children under the age of eighteen living at the same address, they will also be removed. We adopt this process to ensure that the family unit remains registered with one Practice.
