Make An Appointment

How to make an appointment:

All consultations are by appointment only.  There are a number of ways that you can make an appointment with a GP, Practice Nurse, Phlebotomist or Healthcare Assistant.

  • Over the telephone.
  • In person.
  • Via the internet.

All members of our Reception team are trained to a high standard and with the right information from you; they will be able to book an appointment with the most appropriate health professional.

Please remember that an appointment length is only ten minutes, so if you have a couple of things to discuss with the GP or Nurse please ask the reception to book you a double appointment, or if you are booking your appointment via the internet make sure you book two consecutive appointment slots.

Most chronic disease annual reviews, require a twenty minute appointment with the Practice Nurse, so again if you are booking an appointment via the internet, make sure you book two consecutive appointment slots.

Please remember that you are registered with the PRACTICE and not with a specific GP.  The reception staff will always endeavour to book your appointment with the health professional of your choice, but from time to time this may not be achievable and an alternative health professional will be offered.  If you wish to see a particular GP please be advised that you may have to wait longer than 48 hours for an appointment.

Internet Appointment Booking:

If you are booking an appointment with one of our Practice Nurses, please could you  remember that some conditions require a longer appointment slot.  The following table will hopefully help you to decide what length appointment you require.

Condition Appointment Length
Chronic Disease Annual Review 20 minutes
COPD Review 30 minutes
Travel Injections 20 minutes

  Non-Attended Appointments:

Non-Attended appointments waste both time and money. If you cannot keep your appointment PLEASE remember to cancel it, giving us as much notice as you can, preferably 24 hours notice. Letting us know that you cannot attend your appointment means that we can then offer it to someone else.

The Practice has a DNA Policy.  If you fail to attend three appointments in a twelve month period, you will be removed from the Practice list.
